Role: Change Manager / Release Manager
Rate: £312 per day Umbrella
Location: Glasgow - onsite 2-3 days per week
I am looking for a proactive Junior Change/Release Manager to join our Banking client in Glasgow. You’ll help manage controlled, low-risk changes and ensure smooth, predictable releases across our environments. You will coordinate change records, manage release calendars, and collaborate with Engineering, QA, Product, and Service Operations to minimize service disruption and maintain compliance with ITIL and internal governance.
What you’ll do:
- Log, track, and triage change requests in ITSM tools (ServiceNow/Jira), ensuring risk assessment and approvals.
- Prepare and coordinate CAB sessions, including documentation, agendas, and stakeholder communication.
- Maintain release calendars, align deployments with sprint schedules, and support release activities across Dev, QA, UAT, Pre-Prod, and Prod.
- Track deployment outcomes, release quality metrics, and contribute to post-implementation reviews.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders via release notes, status reports, and CAB notes.
- Support automation and continuous improvement of change/release processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Some experience or internships in Change/Release Management, ITSM, DevOps coordination, or SDLC processes.
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts; willingness to achieve ITIL Foundation certification within 6 months.
- Understanding of Agile/SDLC practices (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills; detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working with dashboards and reporting tools.
