Position Overview
We are seeking a Knowledge Base Migration Specialist
to support the hands-on migration of a knowledge base from a legacy platform to Confluence Cloud. This is a tactical, execution-focused role requiring strong technical expertise in Confluence to ensure seamless content and functionality transition.
This position will partner closely with the Change and Knowledge Management Lead (who oversees overall strategy and design) and collaborate with cross-functional team members throughout the migration process.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute migration tasks from legacy platform to Confluence Cloud, ensuring content integrity and functionality
- Convert platform-specific elements (macros, custom HTML, widgets) into cloud-compatible solutions
- Build and refine page templates to enhance usability, branding consistency, and visual appeal
- Optimize page layouts and navigation structures to improve user experience
- Apply taxonomy, labeling, and information architecture best practices
- Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Rovo) to enhance user access to information
- Conduct testing of migrations and configurations prior to production deployment
- Implement out-of-the-box Confluence Cloud features to replace or enhance legacy functionality
- Apply design best practices to create intuitive, user-friendly pages
- Collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate tasks and ensure successful migration completion
- Document processes, configurations, and template standards for long-term sustainability
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience with Confluence Server and Confluence Cloud
- Proficiency with Confluence macros (both Server and Cloud versions)
- Strong understanding of Confluence capabilities and platform limitations
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for custom formatting and design
- Experience creating and managing standardized page templates
- Strong design sensibility and focus on user experience
- Ability to troubleshoot migration challenges and implement creative cloud-based solutions
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team mindset with ability to integrate feedback
- Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Confluence migration tools and structured migration processes
- Understanding of out-of-the-box functionality vs. apps/plugins/add-ons
