Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will support laboratory operations by performing routine and non-routine testing, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. You will assist with equipment qualification and validation, manage inventory, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the lab.
- Conduct routine and non-routine testing in compliance with established procedures and protocols.
- Accurately document testing activities in alignment with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Support qualification, validation, and revalidation of critical systems and equipment under supervision.
- Assist in developing and updating operating procedures to ensure compliance with GDP and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
- Perform scheduled calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Manage chemical inventory, including receiving and tracking samples, supplies, and chemicals.
- Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment consistent with 6S principles, including chemical waste management and glassware cleaning.
- Initiate and support laboratory investigations, providing recommendations for managerial review.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, and protocols using standardized templates; review and approve basic laboratory data.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, assess performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Ensure adherence to EHS policies and implement proactive measures to prevent injury and reduce environmental risks.
- Apply knowledge of GMP, GDP, and laboratory best practices to ensure compliance in a regulated environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain operational efficiency and resolve issues as they arise.
- Contribute to maintaining laboratory readiness for audits and inspections.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong integrity, professionalism, and ability to remain composed in dynamic environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Extensive knowledge of laboratory operations, including chemical handling and safety practices.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as cleanrooms, manufacturing facilities, or laboratories.
- Strong mathematical skills (algebra, decimals, percentages, unit conversions).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace aligned with 6S principles.
- Team-oriented with a proactive and collaborative approach to feedback.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in science preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience, or 5 years in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceuticals or medical devices).
