Position Summary

Our client, a global medical device manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Manager, HR Solutions to join their team onsite in Naperville, IL on a 15 month W2 contract. In this role you will act as a trusted HR business partner to assigned client groups, working closely with HR and business leadership to align talent strategy with business objectives. You will oversee the organisation's HR programmes, manage complex employee relations matters and lead objective investigations, partnering with the legal department where required. You will also advise leaders on workforce planning, restructures, succession and performance management, coach less experienced HR business partners, and use trends and metrics to shape solutions, programmes and policies that build an engaged, high-performing organisation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide HRBP leadership by partnering with HR and business leadership to align business strategy and objectives with talent strategy in assigned client groups; consult, advise and influence leaders on talent actions that build an engaged, high-performing organisation
  • Assess, anticipate and deliver HR-related needs and programmes with minimal oversight, providing leadership and oversight across the organisation's HR programmes
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations requiring judgement and risk management in alignment with the client's policies and practices, including where those are not clear; partner with the legal department as needed
  • Partner closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning in partnership with business leaders and HR Management
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced HR business partners, and participate in special projects with guidance from HR Management or senior HR professionals
  • Participate in the interview and selection of talent in assigned client groups and perform compensation analysis to drive competitive offers
  • Analyse complex trends and metrics in partnership with client groups, COEs or Shared Services to develop solutions, programmes and policies

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required
  • 8-10 years of human resources related experience required

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proven project management skills, with expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, analytical and critical thinking skills, with strict attention to detail
  • Skilled at influencing, consulting and building relationships across all organisational levels, with the ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Extensive knowledge of HR processes and systems, contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards
  • Extensive knowledge of local and federal employment law and the legal requirements of day-to-day employee management, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and leadership skills, with the ability to influence change
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience representing HR leadership on projects, consulting within the HR function and providing task-level direction to outsourcing partners
  • Adheres to all company rules and requirements, including Environmental Health & Safety protocols
  • Travel (day and overnight) will vary as determined by Management
