Manufacturing Technician

Location: La Jolla – San Diego, CA

Duration: 3-Month Contract

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Pay Rate:$21.00/hour


Position Overview

The Manufacturing Technician performs a wide variety of assigned manufacturing tasks to produce high-quality products in a controlled laboratory and production environment. The role involves hands-on assembly, processing, and testing, using both manual and automated systems. Candidates must follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to quality and safety guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly of piece parts into sub-assemblies and completed products using standard assembly tools.
  • Operate automated liquid-handling robots and other complex automated systems to manage product flow.
  • Carry out work order processing to complete products and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assemble electro-optical-mechanical systems, including testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting individual components and integrated systems according to SOPs.
  • Align complex optical systems using in-house software and specialized instruments.
  • Prepare, store, and handle chemical solutions safely, including final inspection, packaging, and proper disposal (may include hazardous materials).
  • Perform kitting, packaging, and other production support functions as needed.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), travelers, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding process issues, progress, and quality concerns.
  • Assist with additional laboratory or production duties as required.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Familiarity with standard laboratory and manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work independently while collaborating with the team.
  • Experience with travelers, ECOs, and GMP preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, structured environment.
