Our client is a leading organization within the electrical utility sector. They are seeking an experienced OpenGrid Specialist to provide subject matter expertise supporting their Outage Management System (OMS) implementation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise in support of OMS implementation (OpenGrid Network, formerly known as PragmaUP/PragmaLINE)
- Assist with system logic, processes, and data particularly as it relates to OMS-related projects, customer communications, and operational activities
- Contribute to upcoming database and server OS upgrades, involving tasks such as OMS configuration, testing, and other hands-on support
- Evaluate hardware/software deliveries for installation into operational baseline
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Conduct analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational projects
- Develop and recommend long-range goals and objectives
- Design, research, and develop highly advanced new technological applications resulting in new projects which require major decision-making recommendations
Education/Experience
- Master's Degree in Information Technology or related specialized field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (PhD Degree preferred)
- Specialized certification may be required
- Typically possesses fifteen or more years of experience in the field performing complex and conceptual analysis, consulting, project management, and providing recommendations
Knowledge/Skills
- Electrical Utility Outage Management Application maintenance experience with back office support experience
- OpenGrid Network (formerly known as PragmaUP/PragmaLINE) expertise
- SQL database proficiency
- Python programming skills
- Windows server maintenance and operational support experience
- Ability to perform complex and conceptual analysis
- Strong consulting and project management capabilities
- Ability to develop highly advanced technological applications
