Platform Specialist | Houston, TX (Onsite)
We’re hiring a Platform Specialist
to join an innovative enterprise technology team based onsite in North Houston. This role is offered on an initial 12 month contracting basis, with potential for further contract extension/conversion to FTE. As a w2 contract worker you are eligible to a benefits package including health/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401k vehicle and more.
Hourly rate:$52-57/hr
In this role, you’ll drive the development and optimization of Azure and AWS cloud platforms, while also supporting on-prem Kubernetes infrastructure. You’ll play a key part in implementing best practices across networking, security, observability, and infrastructure as code (IaC), with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and mature Azure & AWS tenants, landing zones, and infrastructure using IaC
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, DevOps, SREs, DBAs, and Engineers
- Support on-prem Kubernetes clusters—provisioning, tuning, securing, and monitoring
- Troubleshoot platform issues and conduct root cause analysis
- Document architecture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Azure (certifications a plus)
- Strong command of IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Salt
- Deep understanding of Azure DevOps and Linux systems
- Proven expertise in cloud architecture, observability, and resiliency strategies
- Solid foundation in networking, virtualization, and storage technologies
