Principal Project Manager (12-Month Contract)

Location: California (minimal travel – 1–2 days per quarter)

Pay Rate:$70–$100/hour


Position Overview

  • Lead strategic planning, analysis, and policy development for large-scale programs and initiatives
  • Shape long-term strategies by integrating customer needs, market trends, business impacts, and organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with internal teams, industry groups, and regulatory stakeholders to influence priorities and future direction
  • Provide thought leadership on complex initiatives involving funding constraints, compliance requirements, and evolving business needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior program leader on highly complex, high-impact initiatives
  • Manage large, cross-functional projects with significant organizational visibility
  • Partner with senior leadership (including executive-level stakeholders) to influence strategic decisions
  • Anticipate risks and proactively develop innovative, scalable solutions
  • Lead development and execution of program strategies aligned with business goals
  • Drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Develop and implement new tools, frameworks, and analytical methodologies
  • Act as a subject matter expert across programs, policies, and process improvement efforts
  • Support regulatory and compliance-related initiatives, including documentation and data analysis
  • Guide and mentor team members on strategy development, project execution, and continuous improvement practices
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and industry groups on complex or sensitive initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or similar) or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a highly regulated or complex industry
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving organizational change
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance-driven programs is a plus
