PCBA Rework Technician

Torrance, CA or Carson, CA

Duration: 1 year

Schedule: 8-5 (or as early as 6 AM start time- for an 8 hour average day)

Pay:$27-32/hr




Key Skills & Responsibilities

Hands-on knowledge of Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), including:

  • Circuit troubleshooting
  • Inspection to IPC 610 standards
  • Applying and removing conformal coating
  • Cutting traces, soldering components, and adding jumper wires per DCN
  • Full PCBA process, from bare board fabrication to board population
  • Understanding of ESD controls and clean room requirements per ISO standards

About the Role

In this position, you will work closely with technical data packages (assembly instructions, drawings, schematics, BOMs, specifications, etc.) to:

  • Review and resolve product configuration issues
  • Define and assign necessary rework actions
  • Perform Product Acceptance Verification for in-process and final builds
  • Record findings and defects to maintain accurate, traceable quality documentation

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of recent, relevant, hands-on PCBA experience
  • Working knowledge of ESD and clean room practices (ISO standards)
  • Familiarity with basic fabrication and assembly tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio)
  • Good visual acuity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data packages for electronic assemblies

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods, use hands and arms for assembly work, and communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with internal teams and customers
  • Understanding of supply chain processes (manufacturing planning, MRP, Kanban, JIT)
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience with prototyping or high-volume production environments
  • Background in creating work instructions, rework processes, and production documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Positive, proactive approach to challenges
