Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee and support projects related to utility distribution and transmission activities, serving as the primary owner for assigned commodities from initiation through closure. Key responsibilities include:
Essential Duties and Job Functions
- Project Ownership & Coordination
- Serve as the primary owner for assigned project commodities from submission to closeout.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, define project deliverables, and coordinate schedules with internal and external stakeholders.
- Determine outstanding dependencies and deliverables with limited oversight, initiating work orders when project elements are ready.
- Technical Review & Compliance
- Perform detailed reviews of complex project submittals (e.g., Rule 15 and similar requirements) to support project managers.
- Regularly audit tracking systems, reports, and systems of record to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain proficiency in policies, programs, and procedures related to utility distribution and/or transmission line construction.
- Project Reporting & Communication
- Independently prepare and deliver project updates, reports, schedules, and tracking information to project managers.
- Document project notes, records, and key decisions accurately and thoroughly.
- Participate in customer collaboration sessions, district tactical meetings, and regional grid team discussions, providing insights and recommendations.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Resolve project conflicts, delays, and errors by collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
- Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and positive project outcomes.
- Training & Leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert for project management support staff, offering training, mentorship, and operational guidance.
- Support for Project Managers
- Assist project managers by:
- Facilitating meetings and coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Performing document and submittal reviews.
- Managing project schedules and timelines.
- Preparing reports and dashboards.
- Communicating with customers and stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of analytical experience, including reviewing and interpreting complex data sets.
- Minimum 5 years of project coordination or project management experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the utility industry preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with database tools such as Access, SAP, or equivalent systems.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), including at least 2 years of experience with data manipulation, formulas, data visualization, and analytical tools such as Power BI.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
