Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive capital cost estimates for energy and infrastructure projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive phases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and construction to collect and analyze technical documentation for accurate cost modeling.
- Develop and maintain pricing models, estimation tools, and cost databases to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform value engineering and risk assessments, identifying cost-saving opportunities and developing contingency plans for potential uncertainties.
- Track and report on project costs and variances, ensuring alignment with budget forecasts and market conditions.
- Present detailed cost estimates and analysis to senior management and key stakeholders for project approval and strategic planning.
- Coordinate with external vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and ensure project feasibility.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements in all estimating activities.
Essential Duties - Analyze engineering designs and construction plans to support estimation of scope and quantity.
- Recommend design or process alternatives to improve cost-effectiveness.
- Implement metrics for cost and construction estimate validation.
- Participate in ongoing development of innovative technologies across multiple sectors, including renewable energy (solar, wind), energy storage, water treatment, 5G & fiber, and transmission infrastructure.
- Stay current with market trends and construction methodologies to ensure estimates reflect up-to-date pricing and conditions.
Required Skills & Knowledge - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of other MS Office tools.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and project cost controls.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Tools & Technologies - Experience with cost estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX).
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
Education & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in project estimating or related engineering functions.
- Experience in utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects (preferred).
- Previous field engineering or construction management experience is an advantage.
