This position assists in the overall management of assigned projects for a client in the power generation and renewables sector, ensuring compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. This is an office-based role that can incorporate travel on an as-needed basis.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on assigned projects
- Participate in walk downs of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and review contractor payment requests
- Verify constructability, ensure proper resource allocation, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed
- Coordinate project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and the company
- Assist in scope control, budget oversight, resolution of technical issues, performance reporting, scheduling, and work-in-progress
- Interface with landowners, local regulators, and state agencies
- Reinforce expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, lessons learned, corrective action, and appropriate work behaviors for employees and contractor staff
- Coordinate activities or groups such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analytics, and contract administration
- Interface with the project's designated management committee
- Oversee project planning, interface with suppliers and contractors, and lead technical execution to maintain adherence to safety and performance goals
- Ensure risk mitigation, project budget adherence, and optimization of resource allocation at the site level
- Prepare and assist in hosting pre-bid/pre-construction meetings
- Meet with internal stakeholders regularly for ongoing project status updates
- Qualify in Plant Clearance requirements after training, be able to travel to work site and work at overhaul/outage schedule
- Supervise Power Plant overhaul/outage planning/execution work, lead crew before, act as the Owner Representative
- Coordinate with vendors to execute the company's contracted work plan with required specifications, ensure the work is performed safely, with quality and on schedule
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
Experience
- 11-15 years of experience leading construction projects and managing scope control, scheduling, and compliance requirements
- Construction/renewables industry, demonstrated experience in project management, and experience interfacing with a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple disciplines
- Must have at least 7 years Generator maintenance experience in Power Generation industry
- Experience with PM scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) and understanding of wind turbine construction and inspections

- Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities are essential
