JOB TITLE: Project Manager

SCHEDULE: Standard Office Hours

DURATION: 12-Month Contract

PAY:$44-49/hr




Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support the Early-Stage Solar Engineering & Construction (E&C) team, managing a portfolio of solar projects through the early-stage development process before handoff to the construction team. You will work closely with the Solar Regional Lead Project Manager while operating largely independently to ensure projects are technically feasible, financially viable, and ready for construction execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of solar projects, managing them through the early-stage development process.
  • Analyze technical, commercial, and financial project data to support decision-making and identify trends or risks.
  • Ensure each project meets technical feasibility, schedule readiness, commercial support, and financial viability requirements.
  • Support project development and permitting activities while coordinating with internal subject matter experts.
  • Facilitate engineering coordination and proactively resolve technical or operational issues.
  • Develop construction plans and schedules in preparation for project handoff to the construction team.
  • Manage project capital budgets, including approvals and variance tracking across multiple projects.
  • Negotiate and support execution of commercial contracts related to project development.
  • Investigate optimization opportunities to improve project value and efficiency.
  • Utilize project management and reporting tools to track deliverables, manage data, and communicate project performance.
  • Communicate regularly with executive leadership, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and local communities.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Manage the daily coordination and progress of assigned solar projects during early development stages.
  • Perform financial analysis and forecasting to support project feasibility and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, permitting, and development specialists.
  • Monitor project schedules, risks, and deliverables to ensure readiness for construction transition.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Support the broader Early-Stage team with process improvements, training initiatives, and tool development.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication to ensure alignment across project teams.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial and technical data and translate insights into actionable decisions.
  • Knowledge of construction, energy, or solar project development processes preferred.
  • Mechanical awareness or interest in understanding technical project variables.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for working with leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency with project management and data analysis tools.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 11–15 years of professional experience, including project management experience.
  • Experience in construction, energy, or solar development projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and budgets independently.
