We are seeking a Propulsion System Simulation Engineer to support next-generation electric vehicle programs. In this role, you will perform detailed simulations of battery system performance, including discharge, durability, and charging behavior. You will be responsible for tracking simulation outputs, identifying next steps, and ensuring continuity of modeling efforts while collaborating with teams working on parallel development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform propulsion system simulations for battery packs, focusing on discharge performance, durability, and charging behavior.
- Analyze simulation results and define actionable next steps to guide testing and design decisions.
- Manage and prioritize simulation workloads, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and continuity for ongoing programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to align simulation outputs with validation, design, and system-level analysis.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of simulation setups, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of simulation methodologies, tools, and workflows.
- Ensure all simulation activities meet project timelines and established engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in battery systems, electric propulsion, or energy storage simulation.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Effective communication and documentation skills to support cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with battery pack modeling or electric propulsion systems.
- Familiarity with managing simulation efforts across multiple concurrent programs.
- Understanding of battery cell, module, and pack-level electrical and thermal behavior.
- Experience developing simulation workflows for fast charging, discharge profiling, or durability analysis.
- Ability to support knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members.
