Senior Business Analyst – Investment Data
Contract: 6 Months
Location: Sydney (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Organisation
· An established investment organisation is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a key FY25 strategic initiative focused on data integrity and reporting assurance within Investment Operations.
· This is a Sydney-based role requiring regular in-office collaboration, particularly during onboarding to ensure strong integration with the broader team.
Role
· The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, credibility, and usability of submitted manager data by leading validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
· This role is heavily data-focused and requires strong analytical capability, structured documentation practices, and clear stakeholder communication.
· Perform detailed data validation and quality assurance checks across financial and related datasets
· Conduct reconciliations between submitted data and supporting documentation (e.g., financial statements, annual reports)
· Maintain comprehensive documentation to support internal assurance processes
· Develop and maintain an up-to-date issues and variance log
· Provide concise progress updates and highlight blockers
· Partner with internal stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and align data across multiple systems and sources
Experience
· Senior Business Analyst with 5+ years’ experience
· A background in Investment Operations would be considered a distinct advantage
· Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and building structured, repeatable validation checks
· Ability to perform reconciliations with clear audit trails
· Experience designing and executing data validation tests (completeness, consistency, materiality)
· Comfortable identifying root causes of data variances and escalating appropriately
· Confident learning and navigating new data platforms with training and guidance
