We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to provide technical leadership across the development, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of gas turbine power generation projects.
This is an owner-side engineering position with significant technical responsibility. You will act as a key technical authority for gas turbine generation facilities, working closely with equipment OEMs, Owner's Engineers, EPC contractors and internal project stakeholders to ensure projects achieve their performance, reliability, schedule and lifecycle objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience within gas turbine power generation, with strong knowledge of turbine packages, auxiliaries, balance-of-plant systems and EPC project execution.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a technical lead for mechanical systems associated with gas turbine power generation facilities.

Provide owner-side engineering oversight throughout project development, procurement, EPC execution, commissioning and operation.

Support the definition, design and integration of gas turbines and associated auxiliary systems.

Oversee mechanical equipment packages, piping layouts and balance-of-plant interfaces.

Review and validate engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, specifications and thermal system documentation.

Perform and review engineering assessments including heat and mass balances, thermal performance evaluations and water/heat balance calculations.

Support technology selection and configuration studies across simple-cycle, combined-cycle and other power generation solutions.

Develop technical requirements, specifications and performance guarantees for major equipment procurement and EPC contracting.

Lead technical evaluations of OEM and EPC proposals and support commercial and contractual negotiations.

Manage technical interfaces with equipment manufacturers, EPC contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.

Evaluate technologies designed to improve plant output, efficiency, reliability and emissions performance.

Support emissions control strategies, air permitting and environmental compliance requirements.

Participate in HAZOP, HAZID and other technical and operational risk reviews.

Review EPC design packages, installation procedures and commissioning plans.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, performance testing and reliability testing.

Support resolution of technical issues during construction, start-up and commissioning.

Provide ongoing engineering support for operating assets, including troubleshooting, upgrades, outage planning and performance optimization.
Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Significant engineering experience within the power generation industry, ideally 10+ years, although candidates with 7+ years of highly relevant experience may be considered.

Direct gas turbine power generation experience is essential.

Strong technical understanding of gas turbine packages, auxiliaries and balance-of-plant interfaces.

Experience supporting power generation projects through development, design, EPC execution and/or commissioning.

Experience working with equipment OEMs, EPC contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Strong understanding of mechanical plant systems, piping, equipment integration and technical specifications.

Experience reviewing engineering drawings and documentation including PFDs and P&IDs.

Knowledge of power plant environmental, emissions and regulatory requirements.

Strong technical communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineering, commercial and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
-
Experience working for an IPP, power project developer, owner/operator, EPC organization or major equipment OEM.

Simple-cycle and/or combined-cycle gas turbine project experience.

Field commissioning, start-up or performance testing experience.

Experience with air permitting and emissions control technologies including SCR and oxidation catalysts.

Understanding of HRSG and steam-cycle integration.

Exposure to advanced power generation technologies, carbon capture readiness or hydrogen blending.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.
