Position Summary
Our client, a large energy and utilities company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT initiatives across its enterprise technology portfolio, primarily focused on Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. This role partners with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to drive strategic projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale IT projects centered on Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams platform modernization and operations
- Drive migration strategies including mail flow transitions, SharePoint site consolidation, and Teams governance implementation
- Define project scope, schedules, resource plans, budgets, and success criteria
- Facilitate stakeholder communication and executive-level reporting
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies proactively
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party deliverables including Microsoft, Proofpoint, and ServiceNow integrations
- Coordinate with offshore and onshore support teams to balance operational and strategic workloads
- Ensure compliance with M365 security, change management, and governance requirements
- Lead post-project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of IT project management experience
- PMP certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing complex projects
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a matrixed organization
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or regulated industry sector (preferred)
- Experience managing SharePoint migrations, governance frameworks, and information architecture (preferred)
- Hands-on project delivery involving Teams governance, licensing, and meeting infrastructure (preferred)
- Experience managing offshore delivery teams (preferred)
- Agile/Scrum or SAFe certification (preferred)
Knowledge/Skills
- Strong proficiency with Jira, ServiceNow, or similar project management platforms
- Familiarity with Exchange Online mail flow, SMTP relay modernization, OAuth 2.0, and DMARC/DKIM configurations (preferred)
