About the Role
We are seeking a commercially minded and analytically driven finance professional to join a leading manufacturing and supply chain organisation operating across Australia and New Zealand. This role partners closely with operational leaders to provide financial insights, improve performance, and support strategic decision-making across manufacturing and supply chain functions. The position is ideal for someone with strong analytical capability, hands-on manufacturing finance experience, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to provide financial insight into manufacturing performance, efficiency trends, and operational improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial results, including accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting for production-related cost centres.
- Deliver regular reporting and analysis on manufacturing and supply chain performance indicators to support operational decision-making.
- Review and manage product costing information, investigate cost movements and production variances, and identify key drivers impacting profitability.
- Support the annual budget process along with rolling forecasts for manufacturing and supply chain activities.
- Maintain standard costing models, monitor production variances and cost of goods sold, and provide actionable financial insights to leadership teams.
- Support audit, compliance, governance, and ESG-related financial activities.
- Prepare financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate operational changes, investment opportunities, and business initiatives.
- Partner with procurement, plant operations, and broader business teams to assess commercial outcomes and support strategic decisions.
- Assist with internal controls, audit requirements, compliance obligations, and sustainability-related reporting initiatives.
- Identify and support initiatives focused on improving processes, reducing costs, and enhancing operational performance.
About You
- Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance roles with direct exposure to manufacturing or supply chain operations.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as JDE, D365, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data.
- Advanced Excel capability including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to partner across all levels of the business.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
