SR ACCOUNTING ANALYST

LOCATION: REMOTE, CALIFORNIA

SCHEDULE: Standard Working Hours

DURATION: 6-Month Initial Contract

PAY: 66-71 USD per hour



Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will oversee and support day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on lease accounting, operating expense accruals, and allocations. Key responsibilities include:

· Managing and supporting accounting operations for lease accounting, accruals, and allocations.

· Overseeing the daily activities of a three-person accounting team.

· Ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.

· Supporting quarterly and annual SEC disclosures, SOX controls, and year-end external audit requirements.

· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to complete critical accounting projects efficiently and accurately.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

· Oversee the daily activities of a three-person accounting team responsible for lease accounting, accruals, and allocations.

· Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses to help safeguard company assets.

· Ensure real estate and equipment leases are properly accounted for in accordance with ASC 842, Leases.

· Maintain compliance with internal control policies and procedures within a SOX environment.

· Prepare and review internal and external audit requests for annual audits and quarterly reviews.

· Ensure audit support is accurate, complete, and delivered on time to meet public company requirements.

· Support the SEC reporting process by reviewing footnote disclosure schedules prepared by the accounting team.

· Review accounting activities and deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable policies and accounting standards.

· Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced accounting environment.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and complete critical projects.

Knowledge & Skills:

· Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.

· Strong understanding of ASC 842, Leases.

· Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and SOX internal control requirements.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

· Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks under accelerated deadlines.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all organizational levels.

· Ability to work effectively in a dynamic business environment and adjust schedules based on business needs.

· Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system is a plus.

· Experience with BlackLine is a plus.

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.

· Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

· Prior management or team leadership experience required.

· Experience with accounting operations under ASC 842.

· Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment.

· Experience supporting quarterly reviews, annual external audits, and public company reporting requirements.

· Experience with SEC reporting and financial statement footnote disclosures preferred.

· MBA and/or CPA preferred.
