Pay: $54–59/hr (W2)

Our client is a leading global medical technology company. They are seeking a Sr. Engineer to support manufacturing operations through strong process understanding, documentation, and practical engineering application. This onsite role focuses on reviewing and translating existing manufacturing processes into standardized digital formats, requiring the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, visualize shop floor workflows, and apply common-sense engineering judgment within a production environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Review product routers, process sheets, and engineering drawings and translate them into standardized Inspection Process Instructions (IPI) within an Excel-based system (JD Edwards)
  • Convert paper-based manufacturing process documentation into digital formats
  • Interpret and visualize end-to-end manufacturing processes, including inspection, QA, visual inspection, dimensional inspection, and final QA release
  • Ensure adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP), including accurate documentation, corrections, and traceability
  • Apply practical, common-sense engineering judgment to interpret requirements and resolve documentation ambiguities
  • Support process improvement initiatives and enhance the structure and consistency of process documentation
  • Act as a resource for junior engineers by answering process-related questions and providing guidance
  • Lead or support projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables meet defined timelines and quality expectations
  • Maintain a strong focus on throughput and accuracy against defined workload targets

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • 5–7 years of related experience required
  • Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering environments required
  • Regulated industry experience
  • Experience with GDP (Good Documentation Practices) and GMP environments required
  • Project leadership experience with the ability to own workstreams end-to-end preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering processes and production workflows
  • Practical, hands-on mindset with strong common-sense problem-solving ability
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and process documentation
  • Experience with AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) and inspection processes
  • Proficiency with measurement tools, specifically callipers (critical requirement)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with Excel-based systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus
  • Previous experience with CAD or similar engineering software is acceptable but not required
