Duration:
initial 12-month contract
Pay:$50-55/hr
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Engineer to support the development and implementation of complex, end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and material flow processes within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
This role will focus on designing and optimizing material flow from external warehouses through the assembly line. The ideal candidate will bring strong supply chain engineering, data analysis, facility layout, and project management experience, along with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from initial concept through implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop large-scale supply chain, logistics, and material flow processes from external warehouses through the assembly line.
- Partner cross-functionally with Production Control, Packaging, Inbound Logistics, Factory Design, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop integrated material flow solutions.
- Develop detailed value-stream, logistics, routing, warehouse, and facility layout designs.
- Design and implement material handling and flow systems, including conveyors, EMS, AGVs, and ASRS.
- Develop analytical models to evaluate cost, throughput, space utilization, part sequencing, material batching, intermediate storage, and other material flow strategies.
- Plan and manage project schedules while ensuring alignment with overall program milestones and deliverables.
- Drive projects to achieve safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets.
- Lead high-impact supply chain automation initiatives that connect physical logistics with digital intelligence.
- Leverage data, advanced automation, and AI-driven solutions to identify potential bottlenecks, improve material flow, and optimize throughput.
- Serve as a technical leader across complex, ambiguous projects while developing practical, first-principles engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of supply chain or material flow engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing data-driven, end-to-end supply chain, logistics, or material flow processes within high-volume, complex production or logistics environments.
- 3+ years of experience with facility or layout planning using 2D or 3D design platforms such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- 1+ years of experience with modeling or simulation software such as FlexSim or AnyLogic.
- 1+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Ability to interpret engineering and design direction and translate requirements into effective supply chain solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects from concept through implementation.
Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree or MBA in a related field.
- PMP, APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD certification.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Yard Management Systems (YMS).
- Experience using Python for data analysis or workflow automation.
- Experience in automotive, electronics, consumer products, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience designing and implementing automated material handling or logistics systems.
- Experience applying AI, automation, or digital solutions to supply chain and logistics optimization.
