We’re partnering with a leading Australian superannuation fund to hire a Data Warehouse Test Lead for a contract role. You’ll join a collaborative, agile team focused on delivering high-quality data solutions across ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical testing skills, deep SQL knowledge, and hands-on experience in test automation frameworks across modern data stacks.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering a salary of $170–180k + super, with strong potential for extension. The team works fully flexibly, with just 1 day a week in the office.
Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end testing across ingestion, transformation, storage, and reporting layers of a modern data warehouse.

Develop and review test cases, automation scripts, and test execution reports.

Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, and business analysts to ensure test coverage aligns with data and business requirements.

Convert source-to-target mappings into effective SQL queries for validation.

Manage UAT cycles and support release readiness in an agile delivery setup.

Support and mentor a small team (4–5 testers), prioritising tasks and resolving blockers.
Tech Stack & Experience

Strong SQL for data validation and transformation logic.

Experience testing SCD, CDC, and various data modelling patterns.

Hands-on with Snowflake or similar data warehouse platforms.

Proficient with DBT and automation tools such as Great Expectations, pytest, and pandas.

Solid scripting skills in Python.

Experience working within a CI/CD environment; Git for version control.

Understanding of data quality dimensions, privacy/security testing, and data ecosystem integrations.

Exposure to AWS cloud is a bonus.
