Validation Technician

Location: Palo Alto, CA (100% Onsite)

Duration: 12-month contract

Pay Range:$40–44/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Standard Office Hours

  • Minimum 40 hours/week; overtime up to ~45 hours based on business needs

Role Overview

This is a fully onsite role supporting hardware bring-up, validation, and testing of advanced electronic systems. The position requires strong hands-on lab experience, familiarity with electrical test equipment, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

  1. Familiarity with electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters)
  2. Basic coding knowledge (Python preferred)
  3. Jira experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with silicon and hardware engineering teams to implement and execute test procedures for custom processors and electronic systems
  • Use software interfaces to control and automate test equipment during hardware bring-up
  • Validate system functionality using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, digital multimeters)
  • Fabricate custom test fixtures and equipment to support development and validation efforts
  • Perform environmental and electrical testing using specialized lab equipment
  • Manage calibration and mechanical setup of thermal chambers
  • Troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and document issues related to test equipment and harnesses
  • Perform precision PCB modifications, including soldering, de-soldering, and component rework
  • Support commissioning and deployment of new test systems

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics testing
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, drawings, and manufacturer data sheets
  • 7+ years of experience building automated test equipment (ATE) or industrial automation systems
  • Experience using power tools
  • Experience with soldering and circuit board rework
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing using laboratory tools
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Ability to lift and move test equipment and instrumentation
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to identify and fill gaps as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive instrumentation or automotive electronics testing
