Job Description
Responsibilities
- Set up and perform development and validation tests (thermal, vibration, humidity, corrosion, electrical performance) on high-voltage power electronics.
- Document test results and prepare detailed test reports.
- Support root-cause analysis and resolution of issues discovered during testing.
- Select and install appropriate instrumentation for data collection (accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure gauges, thermocouples, voltage sense leads, etc.).
- Utilize standard test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and flowmeters independently.
- Fabricate special test equipment required for development and validation activities.
- Support the design and fabrication of simple mechanical fixtures, jigs, and harnesses.
- Use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation and reporting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical degree in electronics or mechanics preferred.
- 3+ years of experience performing environmental validation testing.
- 2+ years of experience fabricating specialized electronic test equipment and test harnesses.
- Experience working with high voltage and strong understanding of high-voltage safety practices.
- Experience with common machine shop equipment preferred.
- Soldering experience preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret manufacturer product data sheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and strong commitment to completing tasks.
- Ability to support testing at external facilities.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to fill in gaps where needed.
