Validation Technician

Location: Torrance, CA (100% onsite)

Duration: 9 months

Schedule: Standard working hours

Pay Range:$32–$38/hr

Experience Level: 3–15 years


Technical Skills

Must Have

  • Hands-on technical ability
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting experience
  • High-voltage experience (800–1000V)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Harness fabrication experience

Nice to Have

  • Build Technician experience
  • Experience with machine shop tools
  • Soldering skills
  • Technical degree in electronics

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform development and validation tests (thermal, vibration, humidity, corrosion, electrical performance) on high-voltage power electronics.
  • Document test results and prepare detailed test reports.
  • Support root-cause analysis and resolution of issues discovered during testing.
  • Select and install appropriate instrumentation for data collection (accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure gauges, thermocouples, voltage sense leads, etc.).
  • Utilize standard test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and flowmeters independently.
  • Fabricate special test equipment required for development and validation activities.
  • Support the design and fabrication of simple mechanical fixtures, jigs, and harnesses.
  • Use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation and reporting.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in electronics or mechanics preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience performing environmental validation testing.
  • 2+ years of experience fabricating specialized electronic test equipment and test harnesses.
  • Experience working with high voltage and strong understanding of high-voltage safety practices.
  • Experience with common machine shop equipment preferred.
  • Soldering experience preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret manufacturer product data sheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and strong commitment to completing tasks.
  • Ability to support testing at external facilities.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to fill in gaps where needed.
