Job Title: Vehicle Durability & Sealing Test Engineer (Onsite)
Location: 100% Onsite
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm, with flexibility as needed
Travel:
Up to 15% domestic travel (occasional week-long trips to Arizona, Michigan, and Alaska)

Valid driver’s license required (MVR check)
Pay Range:$36-48/hr.
About the Role
We’re partnering with a pioneering automotive company seeking a Durability & Sealing Test Engineer
to lead critical testing efforts for environmental performance and vehicle sealing. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with high visibility during launch and validation phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Benchmark competitor vehicles for environmental durability and sealing
- Develop and manage test plans for stone impact, chipping resistance, and water-tightness
- Coordinate with design, materials, and quality teams on coatings, seals, and underbody protection
- Analyze test data, write reports, and lead root cause investigations for failures
- Support launch readiness by addressing validation and field issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 2–3 years of experience in vehicle durability testing, sealing systems, or chassis/body validation
- Hands-on experience with stone impact or water intrusion testing; familiarity with standards (e.g., SAE J400, ISO 20653, ASTM D3170)
- Strong understanding of vehicle exteriors, underbody systems, and sealing architectures
- Excellent data analysis and cross-functional communication skills
