This role is responsible for supporting financial reporting, analysis, and governance activities within a specialized program. The position focuses on ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance with internal controls while contributing to budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and reconcile financial accounts
- Prepare, review, and annotate variance reports
- Develop and support financial forecasts and budgets based on operating plans
- Conduct research to evaluate accounting implications of different approaches
- Assist in establishing governance frameworks and internal controls for costs and expenditures
- Support cost recovery processes
- Maintain and manage financial data and records, including document organization and tracking
- Contribute to financial reporting for a structured program environment
- Present financial insights and analysis to management
Day-to-Day Activities
- Work with financial data, reporting tools, and documentation systems
- Support data and records management, with a strong emphasis on document organization platforms
- Collaborate with a small team of financial analysts across varying experience levels
- Assist with ongoing reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tasks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent years of experience)
- 2–5 years of relevant experience (Level II)
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word)
- Experience with reporting and financial analysis
- Familiarity with financial management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SharePoint (strongly preferred for data and records management)
- Background in utilities or similar regulated industries
- Experience supporting governance, internal controls, or cost tracking initiatives
